Saturday night on Showtime, EliteXC and Strikeforce put on another amazing show. This time, the main event easily stole the show.
In a captivating match-up, Sanshou-kickboxer Cung Le defeated Frank Shamrock to capture the Strikeforce middleweight title.
The HP Pavilion in San Jose was packed for the “Battle of San Jose”–both men claim the city as their […]

Today mmajunkie.com has posted a statement from Ken Shamrock in response to the allegations made by his brother and Strikeforce middleweight champion, Frank Shamrock. Here it is:
During a recent interview with MMA Madness, Frank Shamrock stated that I have used steroids “my whole life.” In making such a reckless and irresponsible statement, Frank has attacked […]

I’m not sure how many people caught the ShoXC event Friday night on Showtime, but if you did watch, you were “rewarded” with one of the weirdest endings I’ve seen in an MMA fight in a while.
In the main event, Thomas “Wildman” Denny faced off against Malaipet, a decorated Muy Thai fighter from, well, Thailand. […]

EliteXC has announced that it’s first MMA event on CBS will take place on May 31. “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler will defend his Middleweight Title against Scott “Hands of Steel” Smith, who most recently knocked out Kyle Noke in round 2 of their fight at EliteXC: Street Certified on February 16.

Let’s review. We’ve got EliteXC signing a deal with a major broadcast network, CBS, to air live MMA cards. Strikeforce just announced a deal with NBC to air highlight shows after Saturday Night Live. A deal sending UFC programming to FOX is most likely in the wings. Of course, we’ve already got UFC on SpikeTV, […]

MMAFightline is reporting that Fedor Emelianenko’s people are now in negotiations with the UFC to bring Fedor in for one fight.
I guess the presumption is that he would be facing Randy Couture, but why just sign him for one fight? If I were the UFC, I’d try and lock him up for at least three. […]

Wow. That was quick. Just yesterday, Gary Shaw did an interview where he didn’t respond to Dana White’s recent belittling comments. Guess Gary hadn’t heard the interview yet. He did respond today when chatting with Wrestling on Tap (via MMA Fightline):
“Dana is the type of guy that if he owned a gas station, he wouldn’t […]

In an interview with MMA Weekly, EliteXC promoter Gary Shaw said that EliteXC’s first MMA card on CBS will be sometime between April and June.
Shaw didn’t address yesterday’s comments by Dana White. Not that I would expect him to.

Dana White was his usual talkative self in an a Boston Herald interview yesterday. White addressed several topics.
On EliteXC’s deal with CBS:
“The next company that was going to take me out has been coming for the last eight years,” White told the Herald last week. “Every time somebody puts something new together, it’s been ‘Oh, […]
