Kurt Angle VS. Randy Couture
![]()
On Thursday’s edition of Tagg Radio, Kurt Angle was a guest on the show. I have to say it was a great interview, Kurt doesn’t really hold anything back and seems to answer most questions as honestly as possible.
He talked as though a match against Randy Couture WILL happen this year. It’ll be under the ‘Professional Submission League’ banner. This is basically an MMA match without any striking. This could be a great teaser into seeing how Kurt will handle ‘real’ combat after all these years in pro wrestling.
Kurt is 39 years old now and he needs to start making decisions about any kind of MMA career as soon as possible. Although you’ve got to believe if he does enter MMA, it’ll only be for maybe four fights at the most. I could only imagine how many buys a possible Kurt Angle VS. Brock Lesnar match in the UFC would garner.

Who the heck runs the professional submission league?
Abu Dhabi Combat Club or ADCC runs a Submission Wrestling World Championship. ADCC was created by Sheik Tahnoon Bin Zayed Al Nayan, son of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, former president of the United Arab Emirates, on suggestion of Renzo and Royler Gracie. In addition, the championships were started after Sheik Tahnoon Bin Zayed Al Nayan was impressed with the grappling Matt Hume taught his fighters. Significant prize money is awarded to winners, and athletes who have been successful at the highest levels of competition in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, Judo, Sambo and mixed martial arts regularly participate.
Plenty of big name MMA fighters have taken part in the ADCC tournament. You can find out more about this from wikipedia:
